This is my favorite quote said by my favorite actress Audrey Hepburn. (Isn't it wondeful how two "favorites" can fit into the same sentence?) When I participated in pageants a couple of years ago, this was the quote I followed. In pageants, every girl wants to be the one with beautiful eyes and lips and have the best poise. But the real way to have those things isn't through butox, diets, or fashionable clothing. It's all about your character and how you treat others around you. It's all about being able to be confident and knowing that there is someone else walking alongside you always. That gives us more confidence than any diet ever can.

Now that it's December, I feel that I can share one of my favorite quotes by James Barrie.

Originally, I heard this quote like this: "God gave us memories that we might have roses in the Decemeber of our lives," but the idea behind it is still the same. The quote is saying that we have memories so that when we are experiencing difficult, cold, "December" times in life, we can recollect our beautiful, rose-like memories and find joy. One of my rose memories is when I was riding in a boat, laughing, smiling, and living with the song "I'm Gonna Soak Up the Sun" playing. It's a simple memory, but I just remember feeling so alive and happy in that moment. What is a rose memory that you have?
